Yellowstone National Park - Mammoth Hot Springs

Last October I went down to Yellowstone National Park to see Mammoth Hot Springs. I had never been in the fall and wasn't sure what to expect. I was blown away. The steam coming off the springs was enhanced by the crisp fall day. I have no other word to use but awe.

wow! it's gorgeous! this is a must see sight.
forgive me for my ignorance, but I didn't know there was a hot spring there.
reminds me of my trip to
Owakudani in Hakone.

Thank you for the wonderful comment Arabesque. Yellowstone has a lot of thermal activity. Most of the pools have sulfur in them, so I don't think you can sit in them. We have a few hot springs around this area that you can. I've never been to them. We keep meaning to go to Fairmont Hotsprings or Chico Hotsprings, but we never get around to it. Kind of sad actually. Perhaps something to put at the top of the to do list.

Beautiful pics. Reminds me of Rotorua, here in NZ.
