Living in a Winter Wonderland

We had one of those picture perfect days, a reminder that we live in a winter wonderland. I did the only thing I could do. I finally got up to Blackmore Trail in Hyalite Canyon to do some cross country skiing.

Some nice shots. I like the third one down the best I think.

The snow on the car is amazing!! Truly a winter wonderland.
This year we have experienced absolutely no snowfall and I don't think we shall be seeing any. The Germans miss the white flakes, me not so much...:D

Ellen - Thank you for the kind comment. The way the snow clings to the moss fascinates me. Especially if the sun is shining through.

May - Thank you for the kind comment. We have had a really mild winter. I was surprised at how much snow was up in the canyon. Happy, too. Enough snow to ski and nice enough to be out in it. I couldn't believe the snow on the car either. When I left home, it was clean. So the entire time I was driving up the canyon I was kicking up snow that stuck to the back of the car. It was pretty cool actually.

Victoria - Thank you for the comment. I love winter days like this one. There's something very magical about them.

Anyes - Thank you for the lovely comment. I have a blast whenever I get around to skiing. I'm not very good at it, but I like to do it. It's so much fun I keep working at it. It's a pretty good work out, too.

Arabesque - Thank you for the wonderful comment. I was quite shocked by the amount of snow on the car, too. The weather's been really mild around here, and I wasn't sure there would be enough snow up there to go skiing. Apparently in Hyalite Canyon, the snow accumulation has been good.

Laura - Thank you for the wonderful comment. I've actually been enjoying this winter because it's been warmer than usual. In the '30s and '40s. I guess that's still cold if you're not used to it.
