Sundays in My City - Morning Shadows

Unknown Mami hosts Sundays in My City where we all give tours of our hometowns. Check it out, better yet, take us on a tour of the place you call home.

This is one of those days where I thought to myself why don't I get up early more often? I happened to glance out our sliding glass door and was greeted with a magical sight. Shadows draped across our back porch giving perfect contrast to the sparkling crystals within the new fallen snow.

Ah we're both playing with shadows and light in our respective posts today. Your images are just lovely. Eye-catching and warm. Your third image reminds my of the first image in my current post. Great minds, and all that. ;) Beautiful work.

Very pretty! I'd like to rub some of that snow on my face - feels like we skipped spring and went straight to summer here!

I woke up really early this morning but enjoyed the quiet time so much that the thought occurred to me, "Maybe I'm a morning person now."
Have a great Sunday

Kaylen - Thank you for the kind comment. It was actually warm enough this morning that I went out without a coat. Of course, it probably wasn't above 30 or so. It's been below zero these past couple of days so it felt pretty warm to me.

Hilary - Thank you for the wonderful comment. I will drop by and check out your post. I apologize for being so slow to get around and comment lately. Been way too busy and am looking forward to spring break in a couple of weeks so I can catch up on my blogging.

Barbara - Trade you weather. I am so tired of the cold.

Jillsy - I concur. This morning was very relaxing. One of those sunny mornings where the warmth just comes through and you laze around.

Grace - Welcome to my blog. I wish I could continue to get up early. I know I would enjoy the quiet time. Problem is, I enjoy the sleep in time even more.

Joanna - You're welcome. Thank you for the kind comment. Perhaps I will get up earlier this summer and have more morning shots to share.

I guess you'll have to become an early bird because these shots are beautiful.

Thank you Anyes, Daogreer Earth Works and Unknown Mami for the kind comments. I wish I could get up earlier on a regular basis. Whenever I manage it, I'm so amazed by the beautiful light at that time of day.

Lovely. Shadows always evoke beauty and mystery for me. It would be interesting to shoot it in such a way that may evoke something else, like openness and freedom. Don't know how though.

Thank you for the kind comment Fickle Cattle. Shadows are a bit mysterious. I think because they are associated with darkness, a contrast to the light. I'm not sure how to use shadow to evoke freedom or openess either. Might be an interesting challenge.

Thank you, Laura. Those shadows are definitely waning. The sun has finally come out around our neck of the woods. I'm getting a really bad case of spring fever.
