Whatever Happened to JBs?

It's always fascinating to me when moments are frozen in time. One moment normal life is going on then bam some event interupts the flow. There sit all the accessories of daily life as if people will be back to use them soon.

So when we came across the fact that the JBs had closed, I could not resist photographing the interior. It looks like dinner could be served tonight. In fact, as the last photo shows, there's a pancakes, eggs and bacon special.

The signs on the door offer no explanation as to what happened. I can only hazard a guess that it had something to do with the economy. And of course, this lack of explanation only adds to the allure of the mystery.

Well that's a little heartbreaking. I love a great breakfast joint and their special certainly was reasonable. Your photos are haunting with reflections from outside intermingled with their tasteful interior.

Crazy! You'll have to update if you find out the story.

sad to see yet another business hit by this ever getting worse economy. It is said it is leveling or getting better...but as by our paychecks as Carl gets paid percentage...it is WAY down from this time last year...last year was down from the year before by a margin and that was down slightly from the year before...I can not be convinced when we can get approved for assistance for the first time in 10 yrs that things are getting better. Hope those that are now out of work find a job soon!

Hilary. Thanks for the comments on the photos. That's exactly what I was aiming for. We did like to eat here occasionally, and we will miss it.

Stephanie and Renee: no idea what actually happened. Chris thought about calling on the lease to get the story, but I don't think we should yank people around like that. Never saw anything in the paper. Chris did see that Four Corners Hardware is closing due to the economy. This is going to get a lot more interesting as time passes unfortunately.

Big sigh. Here today, gone tomorrow. Maybe it had something to with the $3.99 breakfast. Around here they start at $6.99.

Have a great weekend. how you find a new breakfast joint.
